Something stupid
January 2nd, 2007In my change I got a 2 cent French Euro. Looks and feels like a penny until you take a minute to really look at it.
I think it’s cool. It says on that site that it’s supposed to be Marianne, but when I move it, it’s’ almost weirdly holographic and looks like Tragedy and Comedy masks. I think I’ll set it aside somewhere.
Thank gods that’s over!
January 2nd, 20072006 was a crappy-ass year. I’m ready to start fresh.
So Girl came up from the city and we rang in quietly, playing cards and drinking wine until the wee hours of the morning. GamerGirl came up the next day (having run late and not making it up for NYE itself) and after 5 long years of being friends online and on the phone we actually got to meet in person! That was a pretty damn kickass way to start the new year.
I’m muddling my way through everything else at this point. It has been incessant for the past several weeks. I’ve had family come to town from Arizona and London, people staying in my apartment consistently (I like to live alone… but every day has given me someone staying in my apartment - this will not end soon.) I’m 31 years old and just barely discovering and getting to know my (adult) cousins. We never did that growing up together thing, so it’s a little backwards. It’s also a little staggering. I met 3/4 of the cousins in question 21 years ago when I was 10 and they were 1, 3 and 5. Quite a bit has changed. Heh.
I’m really tired, though, all the time. No matter how much sleep I should be getting at night, it’s broken and fitful. Last night I woke up in a panic around 3:30am. I still don’t know what caused it. Whatever… we do the best we can, right? That’s all anyone can do.
So *toasts*, to the New Year. This one has GOT to be better than the last.
