Dear people who know me,

If you really know me, then you’ll know that if I have an issue with you, I will tell you.  I have told you, I’m sure.  I may also blog about it, but I will have told you FIRST.  Always.

As such, if you are reading my blog and you think to yourself "Gee, I wonder if she’s talking about me…  what could I have done to elicit such a strong reaction?"  Probably you didn’t do anything.  If you DID, then you already know because we have *spoken about it already*.  Don’t get me wrong, I understand the feeling.  I get it myself from time to time, and not just about blogs, but about a lot of things.  So I get it.  On some level this is meant to be reassuring.

There may be times when you read something that I’ve written and think "Oh jeez, she’s writing about [specific instance]."  The reality is, if you’re wondering whether it’s some weirdly veiled reference to something that you can’t put your finger on, it’s totally not.  I don’t have the patience for that sort of thing.

Please note, there is no category called "Other people’s drama", but there is one titled "Narcissism".  There’s a specific reason for that.  Blogging is a vain hobby and one of the most narcissistic endeavors that one can embark upon.

This is not about you.  It’s about me.  Even if I use a situation that you were a part of, even the cause of, it’s still not about you.  It’s about how it made me feel or what it made me think of.  It’s self-absorption.  It’s narcissism.  It’s a diary that I have chosen not to hide or lock.

Rest assured, it is not my style to "out" people online.  Even if there is something on here that is specific to you, no one else is going to know…  at least not solely from reading my blog.  It will not be a case of me saying "I am angry at my friend so-and-so (link) because [reason]".  Because that would make it about you, and it’s not.

It’s about me.
